XAMPP on the other hand has not been updated in over a year, so the program versions are going to be older, and they could possibly have errors. XAMPP also provides you with in-depth logs so you can track every change to the environment. I think MAMP is better because its updated regularly and there seems to be more tutorials and guides which use MAMP.
